Back then, there were no giant supermarkets and small, independent businesses were the lifeblood of the neighbourhood.
His son, Nigel, who now runs the award-winning business, has seen events turn full circle, with families moving back into the Ormeau area and opting for more traditional forms of shopping.

Frame Of Mine Makes History!
On February 22, the Ulster History Circle unveiled a Blue Plaque in tribute to celebrated Irish journalist, politician and diplomat Seán Lester at his former home at 164 Ormeau Road – now the home of the Frame Of Mine Gallery.
Frame Of Mine owner Andrea Burns said the gallery was proud to be associated with a man who had done so much to promote international relations with his role as Ireland’s permanent representative (and later acting Secretary General) at the League of Nations.Read More »
